Who We Are
Established in 1993, Enserve offers comprehensive, high-quality valve repair services for the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chemical, Chemical, Power, Water, Mining & Minerals, Renewable energy and hydrogen energy industries. The company has successfully established itself over the years due to its safe and reliable quality control processes.
Enserve has over 100 employees in its centres throughout the country. As one of the largest privately-owned valve companies in SA, Enserve emerges with a turnover of $5 million per annum. Despite the company’s many accomplishments that include its awarded contracts, it had humble beginnings.
Enserve strives to be the leading VALVE SOLUTIONS COMPANY in Southern Africa and broaden its horizons through the expansion of its service offering.

1993
Enserve was Founded by Steve Bannister and Pieter van Schalkwyk in South Africa in 1993 and began trading from 28 Edison Boulevard in Vanderbijlpark.

Steven Allan Bannister
Managing Director
Steve Bannister is the founder and Managing Director of Enserve Engineering Services (Pty) Ltd. Mr Bannister graduated with a B Ing (Mechanical Engineering) from The University of Stellenbosch. After Mr Bannister held senior engineering management positions in Sasolburg’s Chlorine Division as well as its Cyanide Peroxide Division, he formed his own company in 1993. Presently, Enserve has branches all over South Africa and employs over 100 people.
Thomas Blignaut Boucher
Tommy Boucher completed his five-year apprenticeship in 1974. From 1975-1977, Mr Boucher worked as a boilermaker at Dorbyl. Mr Boucher worked as a Foreman for many years at AECI Chlor-alkali and plastics (Pty) Ltd and Sasol Polymers. Currently, Mr Boucher holds a senior position as Workshop Manager- Safety and Control Valves at Enserve Naledi and is responsible for its safety and Control valve reconditioning department. Tommy joined Enserve on 9 September 1999 and is also a shareholder.
Marius Paul Van Zyl
Marius Paul Van Zyl began his career with Enserve on January 11, 2011, starting as a Valve Assembler. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality, Marius quickly demonstrated his capabilities and moved into the Quality Control position. In his current role, he oversees and ensures the highest standards in valve assembly and functionality. Marius’s dedication to maintaining excellence and his deep understanding of the industry continue to drive success in the Quality Control department.
Cilliers Visser
Cilliers Visser completed his Red Seal apprenticeship as a fitter and turner at MCD Training Centre. He worked in this field over 16 years. He also has a Higher Mechanical Draughting Diploma and worked as a Mechanical Designer in the past. Cilliers has a strong mechanical background and is passionate about the industry. Cilliers joined Enserve on 2 July 2018 and currently holds an Assistant Workshop Manager position in the Mechanical Valves department. Cilliers is responsible for all aspects related to manual valve refurbishment at Enserve Naledi.
Brandon Botha
Brandon Botha has a strong Mechanical background and strives for perfection in his industry. Mr Botha completed his diploma in Mechanical Engineering. He started at Enserve as a Fitter’s Assistant and after years of experience overseeing various projects, climbed the ladder to Sales then Regional Manager for the Mpumalanga Area and now Director in Enserve. Brandon joined Enserve on 12 February 2015.
Hassan Khan
Hassan Khan began his journey with Enserve in 2021, initially stepping into the role of Technical Sales. Over time, he advanced within the company and is now serving as the Operations Director. Hassan's expertise is bolstered by a range of certifications and qualifications, including SIS, Foundation Fieldbus Technologies, MMI Coriolis Flow, RFD Magmeter, RFD Vortex, Control Valve and DVC Calibration Modules, Process Instrumentation, and various modules on Level, Flow, Pressure, and Temperature he has completed at Plantweb University.
Pieter Hendrik de Frey
Pieter de Frey is a skilled Foreman, Valve Fitter, Boilermaker and Diesel Mechanic. One of Mr de Frey’s many achievements is his award for People Management for New Managers (AstroTech) and his 27 years of service with Enserve. Mr de Frey occupied positions that include Valve fitter, foreman, Internal Sales Manager as well as workshop, Site and Current KZN Regional manager at Enserve. Pieter joined Enserve on 1 January 1997.
Annalize Smit
Annalize Smit joined Enserve in June 2019, advancing from Safety Manager to Training Manager. Her career includes roles as a lecturer at Damelin Vaal, Facilitator and Assessor at Tussche Training and Training Force, and SHEQ Administrator at Babcock. She also worked in admin and as an Assessor at Qualitas Career Academy.
Annalize holds a Personal Assistant Diploma, a Website Design certificate, and is a qualified Assessor and Fall Protection Planner. She is currently pursuing her NEBOSH International Diploma. Her qualifications include Samtrac, Lecturer, accredited Assessor and Moderator, with ISO 9001 and 45001 certifications upcoming.
With 15 years in training and 13 years in the OHS industry, she has also served as Safety Administrator during Lethabo shutdowns. Currently, she is the Training and Development Manager at Enserve Group, heads Entrain, and is the Safety Department Head, also working as a Safety Consultant.
Daniel Abraham Ras
Danie Ras is the Director of operations and shareholder at Enserve Environmental Services (Pty) Ltd. Danie Ras holds a B-Tech degree and National diploma in Safety Management from The University of South Africa. He also has a qualification in Essential Air Quality Management from North-West University (NWU). Daniel joined Enserve on 23 November 2007.
In Loving Memory
We memorate previous Director and Partner Gary Le Roux.
Gary was friend and partner of Enserve from 1995. He was extremely popular amongst his peers, an avid family man and a true friend.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Gary during this difficult time.
